As i mentioned about short position if todays profile build under the trend line but todays profile has gone up and there is no short position(trend base) at this moment.

I slept for 3 hours and woke up to see the price go from some 1880 to 1915..... Can someone tell me why did gold rocket upwards? Did something happen in the war?

Well the general news is pointing to an escalating war. (Israel told the people in the north of Gaza to move to the south, Hamas answered their people not to evacuate and threatened them. More war mobilization along the Gaza border, Iran taking Anti-Israel stands etc.) But this is not a linear curve. Gold will hit $2000 eventually again unless there is an immediate peace deal which will not or never happen.
I have had a long pause in trading but I keep some money in a Forex account for just such events. If you can not make some money now I don't know when....

Watch closely the resistance at 1915 and 1920 area. If price can't break that level, try selling with proper risk management
