heres some trivia about usa shutdowns in 1995-96 the dollar rallied from 89 to 120 after the shutdown in clintons term happened to obama in 2013 and dollar went up cause was at 80 in 2018-19 it went up again but not as much but all these those times it was near lows this time i think will drop since we're closer to highs there were 36 government shutdowns...i didnt check all of them but dollar still goes up even in those situations LOL

I don't know what the impact will be.

All I know is that as soon as the price of Gold appears at 1865 or somewhere near I'll start Buying.
I already have some small build up, but am waiting for the gap to close to really start investing.

But if there is no debt ceiling what's stopping them issuing more debt to fund it? Foreign countries don't want it, hence the sell of in the bond market and the only buy left is the Fed, who are meant to be shrinking their balance sheet.

Shutdown is bad for the US. But USD is #1 safe haven. What's bad for the US is bad for the global economy. Uncertainty means rush to safe havens and USD strength.

Wouldn't that mean Democrats are bad for the US and the world if it causes a rush to the dollar safe haven?
