@Timetells
and up to a level. Like the video I alluded to in an earlier post -you might not catch the down move but you could jump on the return up move. Not all the time I know but a good opportunity to plan for same.
For the lurkers on the fringes of this thread: Yes -there are other things to consider like liquidity levels etc but these have all been written about throughout this great thread. read the thread if really interested.

Thankfully I have a Sealy Posturepeadic mattress myself

Got on the market runner up to the RN500 (with the Monthly Hi still 7 pips above that, who knows if & when).
Morning is over for me, what will Franky & London bring later in the day. Back then. Getting some sunshine now while I can lol.

If you look at the recent past PA, this pair is in the mood for grabbing the upside liquidity than the downside. On many occasions, it left the downside HERD ZONE untapped b4 grabbing the upside liquidity on its way to the north.

Our GJ resident (TimeTells) might shed some light on this.

Yes it could just target North. Just wait & watch for me. The zones, targets are there but personally i just watch them cos i find it hard to trade longer time frames. Not confident at all with the longer time frames yet...lol.

Hi fxp,

Yes I am definately a "watcher" of GJ hahaaa,
and I notice it does some of the wackiest things at times while being tied (ultimately) to the machinations of its own majors GBPUSD & USDJPY,
when at the same time having a seemingly independent life of its own

I will trade it discretionary "in the moment" is my best explanation, for short periods of time only,
based mostly now I guess on the delta-movement of the current one hour candle,
and using the one minute chart to finesse entry, with exit often way earlier than many folk who use larger timeframes to fulfill their own market expectations.

So what I am seeing the past week is based around the prior major high back on 10 May earlier this month.
Since then GJ has inched to a new daily high for the past five consecutive trading days being held in a range below by a Herd Line that IS that prior 10 May High.
Whew.
To me it has meant trading buys AND sells depending on where the days Asia high was in relation to those prior Daily Highs bound by that Herd Line underneath.

Where to now. Up to the market imo.
But if they clear (not just fake tip-break & return) the Herd Line below then a new structure is being formed.
They could go higher if you pull up a Daily Weekly double edit lol: MONTHLY Candle Chart (and the new BoJ Gov is agreeable hahaaa).

So I will just watch the daily PA and look for a safer (? lol) period of time to enter for my smallish wants.

Trade well guys, trade safe. (This started out a one or two sentence reply hahaa, turned into an essay again, sorry, I will get back to reading not posting hahaa)

Cheers fxp,
I had to do a double edit lol (not posting so much I lose track hahaaa), BUT the MONTHLY candle chart for GJ shows why they could (only if they wish) go higher again.

I always reckon (in my mind lol) its a matter of who the market has trapped at any one point in time and right now it might be sellers who are on the hook,
who knows.

If they break the sellers then price could plummet (usually just ONE candle only takes out a Herd Lineup) while if the sellers dig in & hold then they might keep inching higher bit by by bit to torment them and build their own positions.

I trade in the moment so none of the bigger picture is too much of a concern but hedge funds & institutions if trading this will be keenly interested in the big picture.

all the best pal.

Had to post this having read SB stuff so many times, a bit of "George" and a video I alluded to in a previous post.
Thought this was "George" like or "Stacey Burke" like the way price, during UK session, broke a previous high and travelled to other side, meeting a series of earlier Low levels and rebounding through brn levels upwards. So if you missed the short you could position for the long.

I just wonder, When a bank is closed, do you think the trading desk of the bank is also closed? when the rest ( or some part) of the world is open!!

Logically it does not sound right to me.

trading desk of a bank is not closed, but on thin reduced staff. their trading limit size will also be reduced.
it will pass down orders to other financial centers if it closes after working hours.

Never sleeps fxp. You do understand I was j/k of course

Back when I was servicing the Westpac Bank computers (from a 3rd party company back in the mid 80's before businesses had their own in-house IT teams) at the banks underground facility (true) in North Ryde, their forex trading room was running 24 hours a day with 3 rotating shifts of 3 staff. Of course our company never worked worked on a Public Holiday lol so I can't say what "they" did on those days hahaaa.

Times have changed in Oz, automation took over and many currency trading rooms & operations for local standard banks stopped operating.

CBs don't close. (Though you could be mistaken with the BoJ under its new Governorship ).

Trade well pal.

If a trader thinks they had a bad week well the local National Australia Bank (NAB) traders were in a league of their own a few years back.
