Hi!

I am happy you found a system you want to try. I want to be straight with you.

I would try to find a system that you can understand. By looking at your pictures I am guessing this is a broker. When it comes to trading I've learned that you should prioritize finding a broker that's User Interface is easy to understand and use. Honestly there is a lot of information on the screen and although the information can be helpful for finding trades, not understanding how the different tools work, can really work against you and can cause a lot of confusion.

I see you have been a part of Forex Factory for a while, but idk how often you trade or even if you have traded before so take my advice with a grain of salt. My advice would be to try to find the names of the indicators on your broker and watch a few videos/ read a few articles on what those indicators mean and how they can be helpful. I for one know that the bottom indicator is volume just by the looks of it.

I am a beginning trader and have found that gaining a lot of knowledge before actually trading the markets helps a lot. I hope you can find the info you are looking for to help you with your scenario.

Thank you very much for your write-up, I really appreciate your time. I will try my best to answer some of the questions you raised.

I will refer myself as a passive trader, and so i also like to try my hands on new things. One thing i have learnt is also to keep your chart as simple as you can. So when i come across a trading system that looks simple as what i posted, i definitely take a keen interest in it. However, i think this platform is for this kind of things, where people come to share their trading ideas with other fellow traders.

Thanks for your reply, Unfortunately, these indicators or better still this trading system is the kind that is attached to a particular trading account details. So without that, when you upload the indicators, some won't show.

I hope you can understand.

No worries, just a bit hard to comment until we can see what interactions the price is having with indicators, ie are they lagging, repainting etc, anyway good luck

Hello Zorbok,

the indicators on your chart are the HalfTrend Indicator and something around the 50ema. In the subwindow it shows some kind of MACD. Itīs pretty easy to use. Above up/ Green up and Below down / Red down.

For Buy
1. Histogram Buy Trades Only
2. Price above those ribbons
3. Above dotted line & it turn blue
4. Up arrow
5. Pivot line for support/resistance
Sell just the other way around.

But i will tell you this
If you don't know exactly how to use it, don't. Not on live account
But maybe on cent account to feel a bit of pressure.
Study it's behavior first until you feel comfortable with it, specially about your risk & reward.

Hello

From the look of the pictures posted, one would say this should be easy and a straightforward system to trade with. I would state some of the rules here:

For a BUY Trade SETUP
1: Histogram must be in Green
2: Price must crossover the Main Moving Average and come back to retest it,
3: Wait for Green Arrow to show
4: When the next candle opens, Take Trade.

we do the opposite for a SELL Trade SETUP

I must also state that, these indicators do not repaint, Especially with the Arrows , Once they appear they stay.
Now with all these rules, it still feels like a gamble when placing trades. The reason here is,

I can take a trade with the same mentioned rules above which ends in positive trade, then you try the same rules on another setup and it fails.

I just don't know why that happens though. So posting this here, i am only hoping there might be someone here who might have also come across this software and perhaps knows something I don't know. I have learnt a lot on this platform and I always want to keep learning.

Buy only if Histogram is green and price is above the ema cloud.

Sell only if Histogram is red and price is below the ema cloud.

exit when and arrow appear.

otherwise just sit on your trigger finger

easy isn't it? You might think again

Please remove the colorful trading tools; most of them are meaningless; try to use support/resistant strategy with Price movements! Besides, default trading tools are enough here!

Hey mate,

If you truly want to use these indicators (not sure why) you need to find a way of entering, exiting and managing your trades and take your time to collect a very large sample size of trades before risking any money on it. Don't take trading strategy advice from people that did not test it properly and don't have a live trackrecord to back up the claims..

This is a good process to create a strategy:

1. Find a repeatable pattern. (Maybe something your indicator does consistently)
2. Test the repeatable pattern over tens of years to collect a good sample size. (If lower time-frames, a bit less years )
3. If finally you find something that works start demo, and then set boundaries to control live performance.
4. Trade the pattern with as low as possible human error involved.

Well, I can give you the basic trading rules; follow the trading chart only! On the other hand, draw the support/resistant levels of your trading chart! Indicators based trading is dangerous instead of trading chart!

Ok, I'm a few years too late but hopefully this can help others today.

It's actually quite simple. When the system rules align with market conditions, you get a positive result, when the system rules don't align with market conditions, it fails and you get a loss.

Learning to read market conditions is complex, takes serious study and a lot of time to learn. Most indicators were designed and created for technical analysis of market conditions, not for providing trading signals. But this makes boring and unpopular social media content, it's much easier to tell struggling traders what they want to hear:

  1. find a strategy or system that has an edge
  2. learn risk management, the "correct" positions size, R:R ratio aligned to win-rate and so on
  3. if all else fails, it must be your "trading psychology"

What every struggling trader fails to understand is that all of these short cuts (mechanical systems and strategies) are poor substitutes for real technical analysis. Which is why they end up with random wins and losses. And when you combine this with the fact that most struggling traders are awful at cutting losses, then you get devastating losses and blown accounts.
