The oligarchs are endangered by the depletion of their wealth thru confiscations by other countries and refusals by other countries to continue to do business with the companies of the oligarchs. Putin and the oligarchs are all ultra-wealthy. They are all ultra-greedy. But the oligarchs outnumber Putin.

And neither is the Russian military hierarchy (nor any person of even a modicum of intelligence) desirous of nuclear war!
