  • EU 27 must all approve any UK trade deal, top official says

    The European Union is still negotiating a trade deal with Britain, a top official with the bloc said on Friday morning, stressing that any agreement that may emerge between negotiators must still be approved by the 27 member states. European Council President Charles Michel said the next few days will show what comes next and the 27 leaders meeting remotely on Dec. 10-11 will take a position on the latest developments, as a deal on future relations between the EU and Britain hangs in the balance. “It’s unfortunate that it took longer than planned, but we’re still currently negotiating,” Michel told a news ... As a fellow trader/commentator 99.9% of your posts are political ( as are mine ) and many other diligent commentators. I only comment when I see one-sided rhetoric .

When I see a balanced/reasoned discussion then I read and refrain .

Yes. But in fairness Ive always thought that's all was EVER going to result given UKs red lines.
The BJ/UK model is just not compatible with EU model. Why I couldn't understand the dishonesty o the claim that it would be the "easiest trade deal ever) that sold the whole Brexit project to UK.

Oh yes absolutely. Nothing new under the sun. But Brexit is Brexit after all and for U.K. staring with a clean sheet would probably be the best outcome. Rushing is not a good idea and no-deal is just a temporary state. There will be a lot of deals in the future.

You're never get on with him because he's that deluded.
He is mostly coming from a political point of view-like most people on these forums.

Then he takes wild economic stances like he knows for a fact.
Fish for example= a finite resource governed by a quota theres that much demand.
He thinks it matters who catch the fish or any tariff can stop/slow the market

As Prime Minister of Romania I can promise, Brexit deal or not, Britain will always find an ally in us
While I believe we would have been stronger as a continued team of 28 in the EU, I am determined to build a new relationship with the UK
