So now the sitting president of the USA who has been throughout encouraging electoral rallys in his own support is suggesting that because he is losing at the polls that the democratic process of the November Presidential election should be delayed and thus subverted to his advantage?
America is in peril. And that means the free world is in peril.
IMHO This is the greatest threat to all America and its constitution stand for since the Civil War.
I cannot imagine the implications for Global financial market volatility if this looks even remotely possible

I Live in one of the hot zones.
Had a bad cold during early days.
Figured already been exposed no need for an untried vaccine.

Something people who have been programmed to hate Trump do not realize...He is THE MOST INVESTIGATED person in history...and yet he is doing just fine. A test was done with faux ballots in Philadelphia. The results showed 21% were "lost" in the mail.

Trump is right but there will not be a delay. There will be numerous contested results and lawsuits regarding who should be seated.

Mail in voting is a bad idea from the start. Iraq held a successful election with purple thumbs. With all the early voting we should do something along the same line.

Dumpy is silent about Cohen at the moment.... if Cohens book would just be hot air, his twitter dumbs would be in overdrive. Some very serious allegations are already out in the public - Cohen would face a catastrophic defamation lawsuit if he doesn't have the evidence to back it up and common, he is a lawyer and should know this stuff. So currently the only way to stay out of jail for a while is to win the election.

Mingary, I think we are both rational, truth seeking human beings with good intentions to understand what is going on.

While we have both access to a huge amount of direct, unfiltered information regarding Trump,
( Tweets, Speeches, Pressers, videos, etc ), our conclusion about what we see in front of us is totally different. How could this possibly be?

I certainly believe a clinical psychologist should be able to judge Trumps mental stage quite accuratly based on all the data. He is a public figure almost since his childhood.

You still don't fucking get why Trump isn't in jail yet. It is certainly not because he is not guilty. He is still protected by a senat majority (against "any" impeachment) and his current job as POTUS (against "all" crimes). That wont last forever.

Just watch what happens when the protection is gone. Under these circumstances it fully makes sense why he is claiming that this is the most important election of all time. He knows he will go to jail. His only hope is 4 more years and then followed by a loyal buddy or family member, willing to misuse pardon power like he already did. He might then try to bargain an full pardon for acknowledging to step back and cover his ass.. Hope this strategy will fail miserably.

Another stupidity from Donald. I stayed away from making comments on him last 2-3 months as I need to be very active all time then, but sometimes my fingers and laptop moves automatically faster than my discipline....I could not help it...LOL.

The statistics tells us, even it is not accurate and we should skip 60-70% of the funny reports coming from some of them, but USA are comparable to majorities of European countries, UK, Aussie, etc. and it is in the neighborhood), so in a few months (voting date) there should not be a problem, right?. And his "witch doctor" can help him on this....LOL. He expresses a series of quotes there too: I dont know her, but she is a "trumpmendous" lady....she told me we have the cure, the Malaria tabs, remember, I told you long time ago....so it must be true (he dont give up on the Malaria tabs....guess his tin soldiers invested heavily in the Pharmacy company selling this ?!)....Lastly, how has it become that the Democrats or the Election committee can cheat more than the Republicans, or the Donald team sitting closer to the process ?!? They did 2 mailings of 100 each. The first batch had 97% return after a week and the second batch had 79% return after only 4 days. To say 21% were lost is misleading.

It is advised for voters to send their votes at the very least one week before deadline. Basically if they cut it too close, they stand a chance that their vote won't count.

Considering the last minute voters encompass all voters regardless of their political leanings, the number of late voters should wash each other out. Basically the focus should be on 'vote early' instead of 'don't vote because it's rigged' claims.

There are two (2) issues here:

1. Absentee ballots - these are time honored and it works. These have to be REQUESTED, then mailed out, completed and returned by a STATE SPECIFIC date. The number of absentee ballots will be increased and it may slow down the system but I'm cool with that; it's what I did in 2016 and 2018.

2. Mail in ballots - This currently happens in five (5) of the states in the USA. In this method the state mails ballots to people on the voting roles and "hope" it is correct. If people move - tough luck; if people die they STILL get mailed a ballot. Under this system, without a checks and balance, there is massive fraud and voter intimidation.

Screw ALL mail in ballots. Make people vote IN PERSON. I don't understand why it is so hard. I can not fly in the USA without a valid photo ID. I recently went into a casino and was not allowed unless I supplied them with my drivers license; this is SOP for most places; including Disney World; so why should voting be any different?

In my state of FL we start early voting 2 weeks BEFORE the general election; there is ample opportunity to vote IF someone wants to.

Why in person? Because no one is allowed to influence your vote within 300 yards of polling places, so you can't be pressured or intimidated. Many Trump voters feel intimidated by media and others who are anti-Trumpers and at home someone could coerce everyone in the household to vote their choice or "hit the road". In person voting eliminates that.

One person - One vote.

It takes YEARS to get the proper systems in place and all the "bugs" corrected.

The fate of the USA election will NOT be known on November 3, 2020 due to the large number of ballots that will need to be counted.

In addition it has been estimated that over 10% of the ballots in the NYC primary were rejected due to failure to complete them correctly.

What should happen is to completely shut down mail in (except for absentee requests (see my earlier post describing the difference)) and extend voting for and entire week rather than a day.

Then, toward the end of the election crazy that Facebook admitted today is planned, the big money will start buying into the low while the retail traders are closing at massive losses. (Facebook stated they are planning for the election vote counting chaos by writing and practicing their plan to blackout pro-America voters' voices during the chaos...you know, what people do to slaves...restrict their voice. Like has already happening to thousands of conservative social media accounts, only now it will happen to EVERY account that even dares say anything positive about America.)

We're voting for our freedom here, not for a party. And, we're voting for freedom of the people outside of the US with this vote too: EU, UK, Hong Kong, Australia (especially Victoria), China, Russia, everywhere. If the US goes down, all of you go down even harder, faster, and worse because you're leadership is already controlled.

Could it be that you wanted it to be removed so your brain came to the conclusion it has been censored while you just made a copy - paste mistake.

The WION source from idea show their perspective on the deal - all sides talk and that's a good thing, so the bias in the reporting is low and the piece is quite fair. They are very close to the conclusions I listed above.

I think the whole thing will progress the following way:

Trump as well as Bibi are both under severe pressure. So they struck a temporarly deal to make a vicotry lap before elections. If they are out of power, some good could come out of it, but it needs a lot of addtional steps to just come to a place where the involved countries have been befor Trump escalated the situation. If they remain in power after elections, the deal will soon be altered or not fullfilled and they go back into their main strategy, which seems to be that Israel annexes West Bank with US blessing.

There is a chance that I get this wrong.... it's complex and I am not a middle east specialist. But just based on logic this is a plausible outcome. This is how these guys work.

Look, Isreal is in the position of strenght since 50 years.... you don't kick somebody who is already hurt and on the ground. Logic tells me it is easier to start and organize a peace agreement from a position of strength. All you really need ist the will to do so and see the benefit of a stable and lasting peace.

The question is: Are those in power in Israel willing to do so and will the palestineans recognize that both countries must have a home land where they can be save and prosper.

I hope they find a fair two states solution one day.

As mentioned before, I agree that is a step in the right direction if two countries start to speak together to find a solution to a problem that stretches beyond their own territory. All of them should have bilateral talks on a regular basis.

Joe Biden agreed that his a good step and the Obama administration worked in the same direction. See, that is the difference between the two. You can look and focus on things that bring you together or you can look and amplify the points that divide us even more.

And I further agree with you that Obama shouldn't have gotten the Nobel Peace Price in 2009. You shouldn't get it in advance based on signaling good will and nice promises. A Nobel Peace Price should be given retrospective when when you can see and measure the results of alturistic actions taken by a person.

In this regard Edward Snowden would really deserve it. They way Obama treated Snowden and Manning was and still is a disgrace. To my knowledge he never apologized. They both did things that help the world understand certain hidden and ugly facet of war and power. They already have their place in history and will be judged as heros in the future.

And here comes one thing I like about Trump. Bold and fast action giving a shit about political correctness and the mechanics of a slow state apparatus. Obama didn't really take big efforts to understand Ed's actions in a broader context. He hid himself behind departments, the attorney general and processes with the result that those who abused the intelligence tools and where attacked through Snowdens revalations were able to run the show and distort the true picture of Snowden intentions and acts. Could you have leaked this information better than Snowden did? I don't think so.

A pardon for Snowden is more impotant than which president does it. Even better would be a fair and public process with the full exonaration of Snowden, combined with a punishment for those misusing the power and finally and the nobel peace price as a bonus.

A democracy works best if the participation rate is high. Trump fears that broader mobilisation to cast a vote will hurt him, because the democrats have far more room for improvement within their voter base in this regard. They certainly have data at hand that shows that a higher participation rate will hurt them, so they fight it.

Well one is amazed. Surely there must be younger people who can run for president rather than the two old guys, one of whom keeps falling over and uses written scripts when speaking ( and still "fluffs" his lines).
But no one seems to ask why a huge chunk of America voted for trump. Maybe a vast section of the populace are fed up with the "ruling elite" (where you have to be rich to run for election.) Perhaps these voters feel no one else addresses their concerns. Problem might be that Trump was the only alternative that seemed to speak for them ( and he had lots of money to smooth his path through politics.) Something is rotten in America but no one listens to the voices telling them so.

Here's a random unrelated incident for you: Biden didn't want to run. He publicly kept saying no. Then, suddenly, he decides to run right after the new Ukraine president was elected. Hmm, kind of hard to prosecute a guy running for President (if he's a Democrat being investigated by a Republican). Kind of hard to get him to flip too - even Obama stated to be careful because 'biden could still **** things up.' Biden is the weakest link due to his health. Hong Kong is delaying by a year a Legislative Council vote and more than a dozen U.S. states moved the date of their primaries and New Zealand delayed the election.

A full democracy needs a free and fair exchange of political ideas and debate.

These are suppressed when the public and political parties cannot participate in electoral activities such as door-knocking, public meetings, and generally having face-to-face contact.

The results are in line with what I would expect. If I place my vote in letter box 4 days before election that is emptied twice a week and ask myself why a my vote isn't counted I can't cry the system is rigged.

In Switzerland up to 90% in some cantons vote by mail - tendence rising. I think it is much safer than vote online, because you have physical evidence with signatures. I never experienced one single mail that hasn't been delivered if I wrote a correct adress on it. If I did it wrong the mail is returned marked as not deliverable. With little extra money I can track the letter online and get a delivery notice when it arrived. I can sign in the letter and then it is virtually impossible that a letter isn't delivered and a legal proof that it has been delivered.

Establish a fair rule of law and equal rights for all people, create a stable envoirment, educate all of them, show them the beauty of science, evolution and art, improve their economic situation so they have something to lose in conflict, replace fanatic religious believes with knowledge wherever you can.

You won't get the"we make peace in a week Trump pipe dream" solution, but each little step in this direction should bring you a bit closer to a peaceful coexistence.

Mingary, your voting link reference shows problems related to mail voting, but it is well within what you can expect and is by no means dramatic. Again, this is used to distort reality and problems are exaggerated.

As explained before, in 2020 there are a lot of countries that have proven beyond all doubts that voting by mail can be organized perfectly. The US lags behind and has room for improvements. Till it works, the study you listed gives good advice how to make sure your vote is counted if you intend to vote by mail. By knowing the weaknesses of the current system, one can avoid most of the potential mistakes without effort.

All actions of Trump so far are not dedicated to solve or improve the situation. His goal is to make it worse. The reason is simple. They probably have data at hand that the vote per mail ratio is higher in groups that tend to vote for Biden, so he sees an advantage in pushing against it (whilst using it himself).

Why don't you or Trump advice your fellow citizens what they have to do to make sure their votes get counted? Wouldn't this be the better way to adress the problem than to defund USPS?

One thing is sure. If it works well it is far more effective than to queue for hours to cast a vote. Agree?

This might be interpreted that you think there is rather not fraud. Nonetheless you conclude that you can't trust USPS to deliver your vote correctly and in time. Therfore your conclusion is not based on facts or a acutual number that explains your position and contradicts your first sentence. This despite the fact you have access to studies that measured and analysed the risk of your vote not delivered and even listed them as reference. This is not rational.

That you intend to vote in person is a good thing. It is your right and choice to do so. It is more important that you vote than which way of voting you use. If you are someone who doesn't like to pay a lot of taxes, it must be in your direct interest that a safe and efficient mail in voting process is put in place. Based on my own experience I can confirm that in advanced democracies mail in voting works and is more efficient. If this is well done, you save a lot of time and the goverment saves money too.

Now, we can move on to your position regarding Bannon and Conway and the kind of Q-Anon endorsement by Trump, because this helps me to understand your world view better.

By installing his man at the top, by taking out mail sorting machines, slashing resources and reducing capacity he will inevitably slow down delivery, at least in the short term. He doesn't have to order that, it is the result of his decision who he puts in charge at the very top and what he expects from this person to do. He communicates like a mob boss.... I give you an example, how this could look like "....you know, the bikers and the police, wonderful folks, they are on my side... so if I am getting impeached for a hoax, a witch hunt...things may get ugly... they are very fine people, but if you stretch it too far, you know....bad things happen.... they are tough guys, you shouldn't make them angry...

I recommand to listen to Adam Schiff's speech before the corrupt Trump enablers voted to dismiss the impeachment. He was 100% spot on - there was collusion and election meddling proven beyond the slightest doubt. He would be a very good president... to bad he doesn't run.

At this point the intention and motivation is clear. If you want to get into the full details you have to do an investigation, gather all evidence and measure the impact. Even the fact that they called him out on this will make sure the USPS is clearly limited in what they can do now without getting a"direct in jail" card because of election meddling. Since everybody is on alert, the impact should be limited because a lot of people will make sure that mail-in voting works. In the end it will be counterproductive for Trump, but till he gets that it is too late.

For the most part, the misinformation of this election year will define it. I would encourage you both to look at the true and unequivocal history of our current president. Court records are the most accurate depiction of what has happened in the past since he has chosen to make his last stand in the court on most occasions. Those records, should you choose to look them over, still exist. They can be found in New York City courts, New York State courts, Atlantic City courts and New Jersey State courts. When you go through these and examine why he has spent so much time involved in court, the nature of the people involved in those court cases and the outcomes of those cases, you cannot help but come to the conclusion that this man has only his own interests at heart -- nothing wrong with that except when the aim is to disenfranchise and ruin others or to prevent the truth about his involvement from coming to the surface. I don't believe the leopard can change his spots, and so I believe that what he has done as President is consistent with what he did before he became President. So I have to believe he is a very corrupt person, seeks to insulate himself by putting others in the firing line and seeks to corrupt everyone around him as further insulation.

Because of his past, I believe he is the same person. He was that person when he bought a residential building in NYC, and turned off the heat and water to force the tenants to leave so he could renovate the building -- they wouldn't leave so he tried to use the court to eject them -- the courts sided with the tenants -- he sold the building -- who benefited? He was that person when he bought a young airline, renamed it Trump Airline, then drove it into the ground before declaring bankruptcy in the court -- does he appear to be a bankrupt person -- no he bankrupted the airline to protect himself from going bankrupt. He was that person when he bought casinos in Atlantic City, NJ, renamed them all as Trump something, then drove them all into bankruptcy to avoid going bankrupt himself. In each of those bankruptcy proceedings, it is apparent that he stripped the cash for his own benefit, then left others holding the bag, including the employees who didn't get paid, the contractors who didn't get paid, the cities who didn't receive their taxes but had to pay court costs and lawyers to avoid declaring bankruptcy themselves. He was that person when he set up Trump University so that people could learn from "The Master" how to invest in real estate -- the lawsuits piled up -- eventually he paid $30 million to settle the Class Action Suit filed against him.

He learned from his first lawyer, Roy Cohn -- if you don't know Roy Cohn's story, you should read about him -- another "wonderful" person. Donald Trump learned well from Roy Cohn -- today he is Roy Cohn reincarnated. After doing your research, it will be interesting to have these conversations again -- nothing he does is for the benefit of anyone other than himself, no matter who gets in his way or who gets hurt.

Oh, and btw, when you have time, look up the Sixty Minutes broadcasts from 2004, 2011, 2015 and 2019 and learn about the research team funded by US government grants and which eventually became BARDA -- they were doing research on Coronaviruses in SE Asia and using a laboratory in Wuhan, China. Their goal eventually became the creation of a vaccine which would be effective on all coronaviruses. Their government funding was eventually cut by Donald Trump. Where could we be if that funding had not been eliminated? And most of these broadcasts took place way before DT began running for President -- in fact there was no mention of DT in any of them -- hard to believe these were the work of left wing media trying to bring him down.

Come to your own conclusions, but we're all tired of you two ranting about what you see in the media. Educate yourselves, then let's have discussion rooted in fact.

As predicted. Unless he can again play the house, (one lesson he at least learned from his failed casino) he will try to cancel the election completely (assuming he can get that by under the idea that there has to be a viable vaccination already deployed). Fxsport I have defended Trump numerous times but the way I read the tweet he calls for a delay.
Whatever the motive or game it is flat out wrong for sake of convenience to alter US Constitution and way it is applied for that opens door to the next time for convenience sake we just disregard our foundational principles.
This is just as abusive as Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler and the rest to use position of power to railroad people giving testimony.

He wanted the Job and he got it. Man up to the position and deal with whatever gets thrown at you.
Do the best possible and leave the rest to the higher power.
He is the Leader of the American people he must Trust in their judgement as they are the ones who then must live with the outcome. If they do not like the outcome then pain is a great learning experience provider,
