I never know why when the EU is dealing with any crisis, a whole raft of folk here become sort of chorus of doom, flooding the threads with unashamed schadenfreude. ---
Well I do actually..its for decades been led by the deeply (70-80%+) euro phobic British press ,specializing in sensationalized inflammatory anti-EU rhetoric and fabrications, reflecting among other things, the financial interests their offshore owners... a sorry sparsity of UK journalists that speak a second language, and their almost complete lack of representation in Brussels and EU capitals. This in turn overflows in the Anglophone world view into US perceptions especially on the right where EU assumes a diabolical threat to nation state democracy...
Cognitive bias..conscious or unconscious lead us as traders and investors into misjudgment, and occasionally markets into mis-pricing. And for English language news aggregators a difficult job in presenting a balanced mix of news.

EU is doing something right..
Covid will definitely be cheaper for EU if they can keep that line flat.
If they can keep it up at least until the vaccine arrives, they will save big time on unwanted expenses.

Europe is miles ahead already gearing up for the post Covid effects. It isn't over yet obviously but they are at a place where they can actually plan a future course.

Im disappointed at your choice of a yes-but (TA) response Of course its not limited to the anglophone world.You know it. I know it and you know I was not implying it was a unique phenomenon.
So why base your reply on "IF SO"? when you know that to be untrue?
My remarks are not partisan.
They are pertinenly focused of anglophone world media because because the anglophone world dominates global financial comment. As the dollar dominates trade and international transactions.
The EU is a political project as much if not more than an economic and social one. Consequently many negotiations inevitably involve grandstanding by various heads of state in showing commitment to narrow national interest for political purposes. However their imperative of continuing their commitment to it is unquestionable. The alternative would be so collectively damaging for Continental EU members as to be unthinkable.
EU is and always will be a work in progress.The primary gateway the anglophone world has had on it has been thru UK media. hence my remarks.

But please lets not fall out about this.. Your comments on these threads are highly appreciated me and many others.. and stand head and shoulders above the usual uninformed HS that clutters these threads.

Online other countries I actually believe this is to be paid back. Thats why they are looking to let EU tax certain transactions unlike now where taxation is for each individual country

As ever, bash the UK.
If the printing press gets turned on it really doesn't matter whether it's once, twice, 75 times, a thousand or a million times, even if Budget/Loans/Grants and any other terminology gets muddied in the PR headline. All the state banks are at it.
What IS much more significant is that the Germans in particular and the Northern States to a significant degree, have been persuaded the principle of averting disaster by remaining a community is greater than their innate principle to have a firm grip on the numbers.
