{quote} Yeah, but ti dropps rather quickly (to 7%)... after you buy above 1,500 EUR (cca 1,670 USD) and that is by official pricing... And with gold.. we know its always good to negotiate About the APMEX... I calculated quickly and it seem you are right, 7% premium on the philharmonic.. But those are slightly different since you get additional (historic) value... Oh tnx for reminding me, better buy those Although would still love to have one/few BAR(s), it is just something about BARs or bullions So planning to have BOTH ...

7% isn't too terrible I guess. It's very high compared to what you pay to buy an ETF/CFD/etc, but for physical I suppose the pricing is justified.

Yeah, you are right I might actually buy it very soon It is just some "feeling" buying local, from rather reliable well-known jewellery company)...
And I love the "GOOD DELIVERY" "guarantee".. so to buy back for cash.. at anytime... at least this is what they said
Can you afford to take that chance?

Also one thing that might be a good investment or at least a good value preserver is "The Gold Watch". You can even pass it down for generations... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFtHjV4c4uw If you invest in gold watch, you invest in gold also... If you happen to choose the famous brand with somewhat limited production, even greater... It can be bought used or new... In fact, if buying used, you might "model" the future prices a bit more accurately since we already have the past price movements, over different periods, we know...

BTW, have been justing calculating recently.. about the PURE gold in gold watches (of some famous brand, with golden bracelet...)... and it seems that there are about 100grams in real gold watch (with golden bracelet)... (even in WHITE gold (18 ct) ones).. which means.. that... if you are stuck anywhere in the world.. you can sell the golden watch in its weight in gold (worst case).. and get a few thousand USD (at worst)... (either for 18 ct yellow gold or 18 ct white gold (discrete/subtle)... This is in case one needs money FAST... "FIRE SALE" mode... if one has time to sell it as branded gold watch.. even better.. But it is good to know that you can "stash" some REAL money with you all the time... and at worst you can have a few thousands with you.. anytime/anywhere.. and whats even better... with white gold version.. you can be subtle and have money "at hand" or "on hand".. so you don not have to check some secret pocket.. if the money is still there.. Watch is the visual constant reminder.. that you have the money with you... or "backup"... if you need to pay someone (for something) fast

BTW the 18 ct white gold seems to have the same percent of GOLD as 18 ct yellow gold... https://www.gold.org/about-gold/about-gold-jewellery
But either way.. even if it has (much) less of that... you can get a few thousands in its weight in gold... enough to get you out of almost anywhere I think

Hm wait a minute.. so that means... 18 ct WHITE GOLD (watch) is even better (wealth storage) since it has Palladium (Pd) instead of Silver (Ag) Copper (Cu)?
But yeah, if we focus in GOLD (sell) alone... you get the idea...
Can you afford to take that chance?

{quote} I was the same way...in fact the first coin I bought my wife was very upset. I told her I was going "gold shopping" and she thought I would come back with some jewelry for her... She still thinks gold is 'worthless" unless you can put it on. {quote} I agree...it is good to diversify.
