Looking at the daily candles right now I feel pretty good about staying long gold in the coming days, buyers seem ready to catch any dips in price. In the meantime we sleepwalk through to tomorrow and prepare for Fed guidance.

Well, XAUUSD went through the psychological 1400 ceiling again @ 230pm CET.

What happened here and NO forecasted news?

Clearly the Gold market is liking what FED Chairman Powell is saying. In addition the futures market in YM has climbed through the ceiling. The majority of the buying seems to have been near the bottom of this range, as it would be expected. The obvious thing to anticipate would be that price retests these tops in the next couple of days. It appears obvious we now have a stable range in place at this top.

Thanks Harry . My predictions are probably correct as often as incorrect but I've learned to listen to my instincts and only place trades when I feel strongly.

Well I obviously give best wishes to gold being strong... at the same time I would also wait, at least for a while...
to see if this USD/Gold trend will gold more than 2-3weeks... But hey, if you daytrade... you might earn/trade you a new 911 Convertible in the meantime

SasukeStrike, I'm a newbie as well. Getting some good insights on these forums to give me some ideas for approach and trades. Good luck. I am expecting a move tonight. Seems like the overnight hours (US time) provides some nice movements as the Asian markets come online. Need to be ready to pounce tonight!

mate i have a long at 1427 which i have had for a while other longs already tped , i have sell limits higher up , and a sell 1421.25 to catch any thing that comes down if i see in a hour or so buys are in charge i will be in

Sounds like a solid plan. I am having a hard time making sense of how hard the USD sold off, which in turn supported gold prices. Right now, it seems like this rally is overdone. The USD might be oversold. I went back and looked at the most recent dot plot and I don't understand why the market is more dovish than the Fed. I don't see a chance of a July 50 basis point rate cut. The Fed will leave itself with little room to act further. At the same time, there's talk about the Fed being one and done with a 25 basis point July rate cut. It's not making much sense to me, so I'm doing what I do best. Nothing.

i never do a trade for the hell of it its not good my message is wait for opportunities the sell or buy limits are a good idea at times and other times
people leave, but this thread will go on for ever
