Lawmakers in the U.K.'s lower house of parliament, the House of Commons, voted to defeat the motion raised by the leader of the main opposition Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn, by 325 votes to 306. Immediately after the vote, May said her government would continue to work to deliver on Brexit and said it was their duty to find a way forward that was backed by the House. May's government survives merely because U.K parliament can't tell once May's out who's gonna be in next to carry on the messy job. There is, as of now, none better choice than her. So they kept her by 325 votes but she has to deliver a better deal, soon.
May would then struggle a bit more then they'll call for a 2nd referendum, fully legitimized now that they have proved to the UK people & EU that they've tried their best and ran out of options - thus deserving a 2nd mercy referendum. They'll vote to stay this time, sending GBP in an upshot from 1.28 to ~1.36 in 2-week time, longterm stabling at 1.50. This will most likely to be the play.

No deal? oh no, whatever May does has little impact. The Brits are smart enough to never leave with a no-deal, that is their backbone policy, of course also their weakness and ECB knows it. ECB played it nice and didn't exercise this leverage though, offering to take the UK back as if nothing’s happened. Brits want to return but the 1st referendum result was an ugly stain in history that must be cleaned/discredited first. This stream of thought runs in at least ⅔ of their parliament.
Brits are non-explosive people with an anti-hurt policy. Given their extensive military coalition with the US and Nato, close bond with mainland Europe and to a lesser degree the CommonWealth, added the prominent world-class financial center status, cable value in people’s heart and mind would never go under 1.40.
But Brexit now would change everything geopolitical-wise and the status that Brits have taken for granted in their lifetime and unsuspectingly enjoyed. That's why they won't do it.

But I might be wrong and they might have really lost their mind/unable to control the situation. Another possibility is they’ve plotted a really good arrangement plan benefiting long term regardless of all the oblivious cuts and stabs in their economy - heaven sent magic - highly unlikely.
