After breakout from rounded bottom, Gold has already hit couple of my targets. I think in a longer term perspective Gold will continue to climb higher into the upper price levels

Good, at least one market goes as expected! UP! BTW thinking of buying it PHYSICAL also.. hopefully soon... Hesitating between coins and "bar/s"

And if that "something" happens, I believe physical is still one of the safest option, at least in a way of preserving its value. But yeah, there are other issues
I mentioned also physical... Not good for trading since you have to "swallow" like 5% of the value, if you are lucky... But I prefer to have it "at hand", at least some of it Also, I love its looks... well.. I couldn't have said it better myself

Silver might have more practical utility than gold. Imagine "something" happens and you're trying to pay for groceries with an ounce of gold. Its like paying with $1,000 and nobody has change. lol

For "getaway" they found a solution for that "50 gram Combibar" (the idea is to be able to crack "1g"s out of the bar, by hand, if/as you need it); available in silver also, but I prefer gold

Yes, it fits into a credit card slot in the wallet BTW White gold jewellery is particularly interesting also since it looks "silver" but 14 karat gold (white or yellow) has the same karat weight but the white is much less obvious

BTW.. am tracking the elections, primaries and "beyond" and we can maybe see already that no matter which candidate will be elected, it might be good for gold... Pretty crazy isn't it? Either can bring new uncertainties and this is what gold is fuelled by I think neither will bring "status quo".. Well maybe ONE candidate would, but do not believe he has the chance... Will see... Might be much clearer in the next 2 days, but have no intention to go into politics, just saying that all paths, in made permutations, lead to the same conclusion: BUY GOLD... And even if it doesn't, if I am missing something, would still love to have (physical also) gold in my/for life.

There should be more volatility at least leading up to the election. The October VIX contract is trading just under 20, which is quite a bit higher than the rest of the contracts so traders are expecting volatility.

The market is basically just saying October and maybe early November. Curiously, volatility goes back down after the election.

Personally I can’t make any predictions on this one, I’m just relaying the message VIX futures are sending.

Anyway, with interest rates so low (bank actually pays a fraction of 1%), holding costs are insignificant compared to the extortion we pay in swaps. I get mine from Perth Mint, which trade not unreasonably far from futures (edit - just checked, not updated intraday - a 5% or so spread above a futures, which is only a right or obligation anyway) for no frills metal bars, all things considered.

Its a medium/long term thing. I don't care one bit. Come back to me at Christmas time, kinda thing and see how much I've stressed out in the meantime (zero). Some people buy holiday houses and swimming pools and fancy cars and helicopters with their spare (not risk capital) dosh. edit {my original meaning was ambiguous}- They may as well be buying Bitcoins for silly ephemeral bling with no intrinsic value or existential meaning.

This volatility thing - a pox on me the day I start trading options on individual equities, but it is well known that implied volatility increases before earnings announcements, and drops off immediately after.

Only a possible analogy/reason, I'm guessing. Just sayin'.

I agree man... I mean, I look gold differently than investment(s)... Of course it is best to hold gold AND earn/trade it while it inflates
But even if it would drop, I would not mind, if we are speaking about BUY to HOLD.. because it survived for so long. I mean no matter what great/GRAND-dad would buy gold, you would still be grateful, right? Many investments, markets, countries, you name it.. disappeared... Gold should be looked as RESERVE(s), if we are talking about physical... But is also great for trading, specially in the UP since what is worse that can happen, if you are not trading with leverage/loans anyway, that you get to keep it? Great, maybe your great-grand son can be appreciate it

Still.. love to trade it, with leverage And to me, it looks nowhere but UP, even if we can have some downturn (opportunities) before we go UP again
