I think that the poll might give the wrong impression, although, of course, there are some strong correlation between emotional persona being cool at critical times...
BUT! As I have been saying for so long. One has to develop the ability to DETACH from emotion in trading... to be COLD AF... As they say... GOOD trader FEELS nothing regardless if he wins or loses... Some are emotionless (for example certain autistic people have epic performance just because emotions are not "in their way", but yeah, that has other side effects... btw there is one recent medical drama series where there is one super-surgeon, but autistic... he later went to a treatment and got emotions but than found out that he was worse surgeon because of it... not sure how series ended later but just saying, giving example).
So if are LOW or even without emotions... that can HELP at trading.. but of course, does have side effects elsewhere... Maybe you would not even start trading if there weren't for emotions themselves, to get/achieve something or whatever..
If you are HIGH on emotions... you might jump AF when you WIN but be a train wreck WHEN you lose... If you see some trader too excited about winnings, be afraid of what WILL happen when he loses, and he will! Everyone wins and loses, at least in trading, the question is how one handle it.
BEST of all worlds is to be EMOTIONAL (in private life for example) but "turn them off" as a PROFESSIONAL (trader)... This phrase of "being COOL" is not COOL for nothing In trading it is best to be COLD, like machine At least when trading, the actual trades.. can resume emotions later
I have to emphasise the EGO also... Some uncontrolled emotions+ego(trip)=BAD NEWS.... or WORST news you can get.... I would not trust this person a cent to trade. Ussualy those are chasing the loses, trying to PROVE something (that usually costs) and, the worst thing, they even ignore some profitable signals, analysis, if the it is from someone they hate or envy... You can find this all over the place, if you pay attention
