Hi guys,
Gold (XAUUSD) has been incredibly aggressive lately, and relying on a single moving average crossover or basic RSI divergence is getting a lot of traders stopped out on those deep pullbacks.
I want to share a free confirmation tool I've been using alongside my standard price action levels. It's called the Xmaster Formula. It essentially acts as a strict "filter" before I take any Gold or Silver setup.
How it works for Precious Metals:
Rather than having a messy chart, it runs 5 classic indicators in the background (EMA, MACD, RSI, Stochastic, and Parabolic SAR) and spits out a simple 0-100 oscillator.
The real value for XAUUSD is the strict confluence mode. Before it prints a valid BUY signal, it checks:
1. Is short-term EMA above long-term?
2. Is MACD momentum positive?
3. Are RSI and Stoch out of the dangerous overbought zones?
4. Is SAR supporting the trend?
Only when all conditions are met on Gold, does it fire the signal.
Trading XAUUSD with it:
I find it works best on the H1 for day trades and H4 for swings. I don't trade the signals blindly (Gold is too volatile for that). Instead, when XAU breaks a key resistance level, I check the oscillator. If I see the green confirmation signal, I take the breakout. If it's red or neutral, I stay out.
It's completely free. Here is the Xmaster Formula MT4 download and a breakdown of the math behind it.
I downloaded it from https://www.forexcracked.com/. They also have an MT5 and TradingView version if you don't use MT4 for your metals charting.
Has anyone else used multi-metric oscillators on Gold? It feels much safer than relying on single indicators, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on H1 vs H4 performance.
