Why Understanding the Market Allows You to Interpret It, Turning It Into a Human Delight and an Intellectual Satisfaction for Your Mind
As I have expressed in my previous posts, I find the methodology applied by ITB to be the perfect synthesis of multiple approaches that have evolved over time. From the early theories of Sam Seiden on Supply and Demand to the newer concepts from ICT. These are precise, rigid rules that, however, leave one critical question unanswered: if these rules are so precise and conditional, why not leverage artificial intelligence and the opportunities offered by machine learning to transform them into a trading system? Then we could all be at a restaurant chatting or enjoying a superb aperitif while the AI does our "dirty work."
It's an interesting question, but it overlooks a fundamental point. What does human intelligence tell me? It indicates that during a prolonged ranging phase, like the one we are currently observing, price must typically take liquidity below in order to move upwards.
With some regret, I woke up later than planned this morning. The long on the London Open (LO) was textbook and almost a given. However, based on my prior market assessment, I told myself, "Okay, I missed the long, so I will take all the short setups."
I'll tell you straight away that going short, given the current market structure, is not my preferred bias—but so be it. Regardless, beyond any other consideration, I only took short positions in the market today (except 2 long trade). I closed my trades simply because I reached my daily target, which is 3% of my allocated trading capital.
