Not related to prop but a long term annoyance is not being able to copy a price from Excel and pasting in MT4/5. I don't understand why such a simple thing is not possible. I use Excel to calculate everything and then having to enter manually prices in MT4/5 is really annoying.

There's a turnaround but it's somehow stupid.
If I copy Excel -> MT4/5 doesn't work
If I copy Excel -> Note pad -> MT4/5 it works

I guess a script would solve this (?) but there should not be necessary anything for such as simple thing.
In ctrader and web match trader we can copy prices just like any copy/paste thing.

Hello Capablanca;

I trust you are well.

With due respect, with Excel (old & new versions), there is just about nothing which is impossible.

The challenge you're facing is due to you copying from a source destination which is, in all likelihood, formula driven. Therefore, attempting to paste the algebraic expression into a target destination which is plain text will result in a null expression.

Should you wish to copy & paste directly from Excel without using Notepad, copy & paste the calculated results (SLs & TPs) into the cells beneath, above, alongside, whichever positioning works best for you. Please use the Paste Value option to the desintation cell.

You may then copy the value integer from the task ribbon bar on the right of the "fx" sign and it will paste normally into your MT4/MT5 order window.

They surely do that.

The funding company business model involves offsetting your net liabilities in a real market. The long-term survivors effectively have to do that.

It’s exactly the same principle as in the entire UK spread betting industry (which is very well regulated by the FCA): net liabilities have to be offset, otherwise they’re intermittently exposed to huge risks and will eventually go under, for sure.

FTMO are far from idiots: they understand how the game works.

I understand what you're saying about the formulas Desbinary.

However the problem has always been deeper than that. Even if I write 1.2345 in an excel cell (so no formulas involved) and copy it to MT4/5 it doesn't copy.

I would have to highlight the number 1.2345 then, yes, it works a copy / paste.

So, using your solution I would have to:
Copy paste value in Excel to another cell -> Highlight the value of the cell -> copy paste to MT4
I still find quicker Excel -> Notepad -> MT4/5

Anyway it's some kind of ridiculous because the formulas in excel don't prevent me from copying their values result directly to ctrader, match trader (and also voyage used by TFT or interactive brokers). Only MT4/5 has this problem with copy paste from Excel.

Spread betting and CFDs are the same thing. It just has a different name and is presented differently i.e. £ per point, not lots.

I doubt many, if any props are managing risk like that. MFF didn't. I bet they just have margin accounts and rarely put people in the real market.

I don't know the inside metrics of the props, specially what happens when a strong movement happens, but intuitively I would say that they should have, at least, deep OTM options over their net exposure.

I had that problem with Bitsgap too all the time when I was trading crypto. Bitsgap essentially runs on DXTrade for an interface I discovered more recently. I'm curious if you'd have the same problem with DXTrade as well. It always drove me nuts. ;-)

The clarification you just provided is quite appreciated, though I'm not the primary target. I too had similar challenge in the past but was in the dark on how to fix it.

I never trade in DXTrade yet so I have no idea.

When TFT made the transition I thought I was in dxtrade. Only later I realized that voyage is not dxtrade

So no experience with dxtrade yet.

I am in shock. I was getting close the last few trading days. This is my first challenge passed since December 2021. A long drought between then and now. Had a grandson (our 1st and only!) born January 2022 who spent 68 nights in the NICU (his mom had pre-eclampsia and had to deliver at 28 weeks to save her - Grandson was 2#at birth). My trading fell apart. Developed anxiety. Lost that account (w/ Digital Pit, no big loss). It's been a long slow 2+ year slog for this to happen today. The MFF thing set me back. Had to learn new platforms and instruments. I trade Futures now like most US traders.

What trading copier works with Tradovate? I used the Group Copier today (first time) from the Tradovate platform. It was awful. It did not close the copied accounts which, thankfully, went in my favor.

Thanks to all of you for inspiration, motivation, and helpful info.

They're similar in one sense, but the key difference between them is of course the regulation, and that's what makes one of them safe (all the spreadbet companies are FCA-regulated, which means routine, independent, close inspection of everything, strictly in accordance with customer protection).

I agree with you, but it isn't quite the relevant point. It's not about putting "people" in the real market@ it's about putting "their own net liability" in the real market.

The big, long-standing, successful, well-regulated spreadbet firms are ALL doing that, and I think FTMO are, also.

I hope so, anyway, for the sake of their own long-term survival: if they're not doing that, they clearly can't last indefinitely. But they're a bright bunch of guys and I'm pretty sure they have always known that (and indeed there's even some, albeit slight/remote, evidence that they do).

Rise is a joke for bank transfers to Europe.

First of all I can't transfer USD, only EUR, despite I have some european bank accounts in USD.

Secondly, they charge steal commissions.

7 USD flat fee and, in addition, they convert at 1 USD = 0.90 EUR.

So, a transfer of about $2K costs about 35 euros. Almost 2%.

I miss Deel so much....

Capa if you transfer crypto to binance and withdraw in euro is cheaper and binance gives a good conversion
