I put in an entry stop order to go long when cable gets to 1.9735. When you guys look for a break of a key resistance/support point, how many pips do you wait for the pair to gain/lose before you take the trade?

I put in a trade this morning, long cable at 1.9620. I closed the trade at 1.9640 cause I thought it would surely go down. I did this even though my system (vegas) didnt give me any signals to close the trade. I feel really stupid now

Maybe on shorter timeframes, but if someone was trading higher timeframes like 4hrs and daily, then 2hrs of screen time/day would be sufficient. Dont you think? Also I think the more years you have the better because you will have traded more news ...

I use the vegas 1hr with the VWB system. This morning I saw the gbp breach the tunnel to the upside. I missed some initial pips but I got in at 1.9049. Set SL to 1.9009. I took out one lot at 1.9095, have the second one with a trailing stop and 20 ...

I went short at 1.9028. After the price moved 40 pips in my direction I moved the SL to BE and have it trailing now.

So I put in my trade to get in at 1.9050 with SL at 1.9105. Woke up this morning to find out that I had gotten into the trade and been stopped out

First of all, stop typing in all caps. I am waiting for confirmation, if the price falls below 1.9055 i will go short.

I am actually waiting for the current bar to drop below the pin. I will enter around 1.9055 and set SL above the left eye around 1.9105. Or maybe above the pin, but thats too many pips for me.

I get the same feeling. I think a majority of people here are starting their forex endevour. Most of the ones that have being doing it for some time are not doing that hot. Some of the people on here really know what they are talking about though ...
