My son told me a great story this morning..
Last friday his kids invited a bunch of friends to stay the weekend. (big house).
On friday night expecting Saturday a bright hot sunny day he sold them the idea of a day on the beach.
They even had a vote on it. And got everything packed up.
But Saturday morning the weather broke - thunder, lightning and p*ssing rain.
They didn't go to the beach.
Instead the kids had another vote and decided they wanted to watch cartoons and trip to Mcdonalds.

And the moral is ..
If Kids (average age 10) are smart enough to change their minds when they see a stupid decision,
thats not going to work out as planned, why arent adults?.

But then Adults aren't allowed to change their minds apparently. (Because its undemocratic)

It's the UK that wants to leave the EU, not the EU that wants to leave the UK, so don't blame the EU for sticking to their basic principles. UK must accept these principles or quit w/o a deal and accept the consequences.

The political reality behind this is the current UK government trying to force a general election via a no confidence vote. In so doing the UK Parliament and Corbyn's opposition are seen to be the cause of a no deal precipitating if they don't go ahead with a vote of no confidence. The more outrageous to ploy the more desperate the government's position. Expect more of this. As to the out come - maintain a safe distance until the dust has settled.

I thought Goldman Sachs advised clients to buy GBP because odds on no deal extremely unlikely before this announcement it's like they knew this would happen and needed to close ASAP.

Partitioning of UK by Merkel and EU is not going to happen. For starters it would violate very basis of UK Law and is certainly not within prerogative of PM powers to negotiate..
If this is to be stance taken by EU, even UK Parliament which supported stopping a no deal outcome can not go along with this.
Would be watching for political backlash directed towards EU in UK to break out.

Shall we just nullify that result? I think not!
I voted leave, because I felt that the outlook of the EU was changing the country that educated me and gave me a strong sense of self and a sense of pride. I could not see the point in continuing the Uk's self flagellation, in danger of losing its identity and seeing a foreign flag flying as high as the union Jack. There was, for me, no reason to remain. But if the vote had gone to the remainers I would not now be crying about it. Just getting on with it. since the vote, the attitude of the EU has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth and would rather throw the bad wine in their face than swallow it. I believe that many on the fence remainers feel the same way and that many of the on the fence leavers would be firmer in sticking to their original decision. Be careful of what you wish for. and yeah..no, because it would be undemocratic.
Why is there no GBP/XAU? or is that a silly question?

Yes I would say, we made a decision to go outside, breathe some fresh air. Now, we need to weather the storm. But the vociferous minority get their way. So kids go back inside, come up with new plan to enjoy being inside. The majority though looks out disappointed. . An hour later sun comes out beautiful day, kids from all over come out to play. Too late for another change of plan, murmers of discontent from both camps, they are inside looking out, no one is enjoying it. Hosts are tired of hearing complaints, add a service charge to the bill. Boom Boom.

the Parliament never
the Institutions never
the Public definitely never changed there mind despite all the scare stories of the time and right now.
Now we're better educated about being tricked as you would say, but if that was true Lib Dems would be way up by now...and the Brexit party wouldn't have won the EU elections.

Pointless to have another ref , and all the trouble that would cause. One way or the other that would be a very bad idea.

Boris still insists that he will obey the law although he is equally adamant that the UK will leave the EU on 31st October. I can only assume that he believes that he is secretly holding the 'Ace of Trumps' card up his sleeve (no pun intended). The cable rate is about to tank.

Really ? PM Teresa actually negotiated and agreed to it, if there were give or take 40 mp's more to support Teresa's deal, the Uk would be out in March, and NI would be in our customs union.

If we are to be out by BoJo's deadline of Oct 31 ... then time is too short to thrash out a deal. Heading for no deal though BoJo has his hands tied due to having to ask for an extension in accordance with the Benn's 'surrender' law! He still pledges we will leave on 31st .... How ?
