It's a bit much using state media and propaganda when it's obvious to all and sundry that the yuan is being devalued to offset tariffs .

US has the best hand but China has a whole load of leverage via US treasuries .

China is making excuses for being the lying thieving crooks they truly are. China has a huge fundamental problem, they are communists and MUST be totally in control. In the end that very totalitarianism will be their downfall. The survival of the communist party depends heavily on exports to the US {their BIGGEST customer). Trump is capitalizing on that reality.

Counter measures are like those measures that replace american companies' subsidiaries in China sales of $700+ billions in Chinese market by Chinese companies.

That is counting only the trades in physical products without including services, tourism, and US companies's sales in China. So Economics says, US don;t just lose but lose badly in a protracted trade war.

Some obvious apparent loses include
- Lose cheap products which will result in price inflation
- lose huge Chinese market
- lose resulting from decreasing sales in $700+ billions sales by US companies.
- lose because the process strengthen China economically and geopolitically making US irrelevant to China in a near future
