All the talks have done since this war started, is lead to false hope of a lasting peace.

I cite the major "Deal Is Done" quote from Donald over the weekend of the 13-14th June as just 1 exhibit.

Since then, USD has broken resistance and gone north of it's 12 month range, we've made a new wartime GU low and opened it's last 2 weeks below the major weekly trendline from 2022.

And the fighting has continued.

But the "Deal is done".

It took so many years to get something Obama had achieved with a Nuclear deal on Iran, I would really wonder if US now can do this within end of this term. I do not believe they will find any solution within 60 days nor end of this year. One reason to give is, that Isreal won't give up any land on Lebanon or just go home. They are still in full war of Hizbollah and this do not change until end of this year for sure. And nobody would ever care about this if Hormuz would not be subject of this. So aslong as Hormuz can be opened, they can talk for many years. But still the Hormuz is not opened as before as I can see that. It is like having a ticking time bomb right now. When there is no more enough oil supply and other things needed from Hormuz and it is not opened yet.

To be honest, at this point, I don't think we can call this a "massive geopolitical shift". The shift was the initial "ceasefire" in late March...and the markets did react strongly at that time.

This, however, is just the latest in a long line (at least 6, maybe more?) of on again/off again confrontations. Each has been positive for the markets as "hope of an ultimate conclusion" is worth more than the conclusion itself (so we have been taught time and again since April).

I wish the markets wouldn't react this way, but they do.....so we can do nothing but react to the reactions.

I think ffghost makes an excellent point here. It really isn't about a massive shift anymore; it is just the same old on-again, off-again headline cycle we have been seeing for months. At the end of the day, trying to guess the real-world outcome is a losing game. The market reacts to the headlines regardless of the reality, so our only job is to react to those market movements and manage the risk.
