2. The USA is the largest oil producer in the world.

3. The Strait of Homuz only amount to 20% of the worlds Oil transit, only 20%.

4. If the Strait is blocked for 5 more months Iran will starve out. Because Homuz is the only oil transit Iran has

It is illegal for Iran to charge fees.
According to the international rule, any Straight located between two countries (like Hormuz which is located between Iran and Oman) it must be duty free. If the Straight is within the same country as in Suez canal, and Panama canal, then they can charge fee.
