SpaceX Shares Open At $150 In Nasdaq Debut Vs $135 IPO Price

VIX was increasing pre-IPO. It has since fallen off. Some would say your kids will be riding those shares "to the moon".

/nq bounced 125 off its lows (and for no reason other than it was the 11AM CST time stamp). If people start to de-risk into the weekend (despite the impending "peace deal"), that would be an interesting situation.

....but, I don't really see that happening in earnest (despite being positioned for it)

A huge milestone, to be sure. Whether or not folks agree with the virtuous nature of it, he get's his name in the history books.

The question is: Did the market finally get all of this out of its system? Iran war "done" (maybe?). SpaceX IPO done (not collapsing, but not going 'to the moon'.....yet).

I guess the next unknowns are whether OpenAI/Anthropoic will see this as an affirmation to do their own IPO sooner rather than later, or wait a while. If prices remain stable and above the IPO price, I would guess we'll see those two this summer. If SPCX drops to $85 in the next week, perhaps not.

Either way, "buy the rumor" has been the mantra for months. Will "sell the news" now lead the way, or are things still going to be considered "cheap" and the datacenter hype remain strong? Charts would suggest the latter, I suppose...and yet I find myself STILL trying to push against the ocean. Masochist I guess...

I agree with you and the con men, but, Starlink is actually a good and profitable company, as is SpaceX, what drags it in to a loss in the AI side of things, an endless black hole

Neither does a $200M painting....or Sandisk at $2000/share....but SOMEONE finds enough value in it.

"Value", as has always been the case, is in the eye of the beholder (and expected future value).

Maybe it is $2T worth of 'dreams of the future'? People pay money to be entertained, maybe this is just the same thing: an expensive form of entertainment.

I can't dispute the insane valuations though: for a company that had a -$2.6B Q1 2026 net revenue to be valued at $2T, in my opinion, crazy. But, again, I am not buying the stock at these prices (and likely losing out on big gains in the near future), so what do I know?
