Bessent Pulls Trigger On Using Frozen Funds To Reimburse Gulf Allies: 'Iran Will Pay'

US Treasury Secretary Bessent announced on X Thursday morning that Washington is moving forward on a plan to compensate America's Gulf regional allies for damage sustained during Iranian counterattacks on their energy and civic infrastructure. He made clear that any damage to Gulf allies would be paid for with frozen Iranian funds, which Tehran leadership has long blasted as blatant theft. According to Bessent's latest announcement: "The Iranian regime will lose the zero-sum game it is playing." Then US is not looking to end the WAR, you froze their money (not invested or yielding any interest)

Now you want to give it out without their consent, the problem is cost levels have increased all over the world as a result of these actions (war etc)

There are 2 ways to look at this:

1: It could be a way to give the money back to Iran, without actually giving it themselves - saves face
2: It could be a way to create problems in the region by pitting them against each other - sustain pressure

This was reported only hours before recent escalation, the reports mentioned a plane from UAE delivered the cash - Iranian media or officials have not confirmed this report though, its just based on foreign media reports, which could be fake or real.

Eventually this will be another shot in US foot... More countries will run from the US$, they did it to Russia and now repeating the same plot with Iran... It is a crime to act this way. Bessent/US is not permitted to use Iranian frozen funds. Europe was trying to do the same with Russian frozen funds to help Ukrain, but the conclusion was that it is not allowed by international rule of (war) law. So this applies for Bessent as well, but he is trying to be a heavy tough guy, like his gang leader Trump and fellow gang member Hegseth but he is just a common thief and a criminal like the rest of the gang of robbers.
