Sometimes people say to let the people fight their battle and push out leaders they don't want. But how do you rise up against a leadership that can take out 40k people in a few days without batting an eyelid? It will only take external help.

If there is one thing I have come to see, it is that theocracy is NOT good. It doesn't matter the religion; it is NOT good. And it is not necessarily because of the religion, but because people will always weaponise religion. What do you do when someone says god ordered a killing?

Saudi Arabia is better because it is what is referred to as a "theo-monarchy". At least it is a hybrid, and not full-blown theocracy. Israel is far better because it is a democracy, but it still has theocratic elements from the sanhedrin.

I still can not figure out why people have to weaponise religion.

It started with Constantine. He saw the potential of mind control through religion and realized he could control people's minds if he injects god, after life and heaven and hell into his worldly ambitions. He was right and Islam being a copy of Christianity with an Arab flavour capitalized on the concept:

Yes, I'm aware of this history. Constantine merged the state and religion.

War and all such things go against the basic teachings of Jesus and his apostles in the New Testament. But again, when humans handle religion they use it for personal gains against the people they are supposed to lead with love. Islam is more a copy of the Old Testament, but then people still weaponise it against their fellow human beings.

It's sad.
