Germany: New orders in the manufacturing sector in April 2026: -3.8% compared to the previous month

According to preliminary figures from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), real (price-adjusted) new orders in the manufacturing sector fell by 3.8% in April 2026 compared to March 2026, after seasonal and calendar adjustment. Excluding large orders, new orders were also 3.8% lower than in the previous month. In the less volatile three-month comparison, new orders from February 2026 to April 2026 were 3.1% lower than in the preceding three months; excluding large orders, they rose by 3.5% over the same period.
