why not change tactic - let arab countries negotiate with iran bc their most affected by strait closure. us is just a silent negotiation partner, silent being the operative word.

release the frozen assets to a third party trusted by both iran and us - say pakistan, qatar or egypt - to be used for reconstruction of infrastructures damaged by us bombing campaign, fulfilling 2 of iran's demands ie release of frozen assets and compensation for destruction. it will also make sure that the monnaie doesn't used to strengthen the regime at the expense of their own people, rearming, or god forbid, restarting the nuclear project.
