tariffs have nothing to do with inflation - inflation as in its name comes from inflating the currency without growing the economy, aka printing money that gets distributed to a few oligarchs that horde this money - majority of this money never trickles down, it weakens the currency and various things gets more expensive.

The idea of attributing anything that gets expensive due to inflation is flawed understanding of basic economy and language! If oil wells explode and oil gets more expensive due to constraint on supply or a storm destroy a wheat crop reducing the available supply, does that constitute inflation? obviously not!

Inflation comes from government/central bank policy by printing money without growing the economy!

so printing money that gets put aside and NOT pushed into the general economy means the currency is weakening?
So what does money printing and pushing it into the economy do then? Strengthen the currency or what?

Its all about how the money is used, if its used in productive manner like building cities, infrastructure such as rail road and grow the economy, it strengthen the currency - to simplify, think of a currency as a stock of a country - if a company spends its cash on bad investment its options to raise more money is dilute the stock (inflation) and its stock gets weaker - if a company make good investments, its stocks go up and it can keep raising money by also diluting the stock (inflation) but this underlying aspect wont have effect on the price because the good investments provide value for the company.

Money supply (printing) always grows due to various reasons such as population growth, gov spending etc - the main issue is when its grows how is that money spent?
