Unnecessary tariffs and unnecessary war. Rates would have probably been at around 1% - 2% without interference from Trump. Now, Fed cannot cut, actually they should start hiking rates immediately and probably go even above the recent cycle high of 5.50%. Brent is almost above 130$. This is a real disaster. Yields are surging higher. If the Fed continues to cut rates in this environment, even they wouldn't be able to stop yields from spiking in the debt market and that would end really badly.
