According to equities, war is great. The real problem is that there is just not enough war. Can you imagine how high the markets would go if we could just have several wars going on on every continent? I hear Erdogan is thinking about invading Israel. That's a great idea. I read it better now. It's a really specific case that probably hadn't ever come up before. We are talking about the general freedom of speech, not obscure ones.

The important thing is what the justice said: the more you invite the public onto your property the more it is not your property and becomes public property. If you want to keep your private property private then don't invite the entire world inside.

Social media has invited the whole world inside and thinks it can dictate what those people are allowed to see.

I guess speech is the action of expressing an opinion but all other actions like practicing sharia law are different. If someone is trolling on a forum to disrupt others from expressing opinions then that is not itself an expression of an opinion and not protected free speech. If someone is spamming with ads then that is also not an expression of an opinion.

People should be allowed to speak their mind and if others don't like it then they don't have to read it.

So then you agree with how the FF forum is being run.
In the society, if you live across the person promoting their religion on the sidewalk, you can't just pick up your home and go somewhere else. Additionally, what if that activity attracts more crowds of pro and cons arguing about it? Not fair to tell the neighbors to just ignore it. Forums and streets are different places and should be treated differently as well.

FF has almost no audience so no need for censorship. If you're begging for customers you can't put too many restrictions on them, but on X, FB, Reddit a used paper cup is worth more than a person.

The sidewalk is the same as living across from a noisy neighbor. Zuckerberg has an entire neighborhood torn up in CA with construction constantly and security guards barking orders at everyone. If you want peace you have to move to a rural area.

Not to beat a dead horse to a pulp but FF is really moderate on ads and also, noise from construction is very different from religious or other activities that attract certain crowds of people. A very different subject than freedom of expression in both cases.

You were talking about noise from those on sidewalks so I pointed out that noise can come from anywhere if you live in a neighborhood. If Zuckerberg can literally raise hell for months and years, terrorizing neighbors incessantly, then someone promoting religion on a sidewalk is nothing.

Spam (aka ads) is why non-registered users cannot post without review. That's the #1 moderation problem. I was a mod on a forum and every day I had to delete spam that somehow slips by.

Yes if you live in a neighborhood you accept that other people will make noise. Whether it's street preachers, dogs barking, loud engines, kids playing doesn't matter.

What you have a right not to accept is noise by gangs, religion pushers, lewd acts and prostitution and such crowd and activities not tolerated by self respecting folks not into that. Maybe if you are into those things, pressure your government for certain designated areas outside the city and buy a house there and enjoy your crowd.

At a 4-way stop a guy sets up speakers and walks around preaching the gospel as loud as he can and we just have to deal with it. He's been doing it for years and years. I'm not aware of any right to quiet in the US.

Some time ago me and some friends were raising hell on atvs on my property when a cop pulls up and asks how much longer we will be doing that because the neighbors are complaining. I said "I guess we're done now lol". He said "I can't stop you, but just letting you know your neighbors are complaining."

It's costing the USA $2bio a day to keep all that hardware & manpower cruising around there. And that's just the outright cost to the govt.
