US wholesale inventories up by 0.8% in February
Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 0.8% in February compared to the revised January reading, reaching $919.6 billion, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Thursday. Year-over-year, the figure was up by 1.8%. Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $751.9 billion, climbing 2.7% on a monthly basis and surging 8.8% on an annual basis. The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.22, compared to 1.31 registered in February 2025.
