He’s already made his move; if he bluffs now, he effectively admits defeat. Iran would have exposed U.S. diplomatic weakness to the entire world. If he backs down at this stage, the United States risks losing what little respect it still holds internationally. The only thing still sustaining U.S. diplomatic relevance is its ability to project strength—once that projection shifts from strength to weakness, it signals the beginning of a broader collapse.
