The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed now for 27 days with no obvious path to reopening it anytime soon. With around 15 million barrels a day of lost global supply, the world oil market is now short roughly 400 million barrels. This is equivalent to the total strategic reserve releases among all IEA countries that are expected to take another three to four months to fully get to market.
