My problem is what I "want" is to believe Trump and have an end to this thing - even if it is just the beginning of the end. And, unfortunately for my stress levels, I am positioned as such.


What I "feel" (conspiratorially), is that the first aggression out of Iran amid this "false" narrative of a temporary halt of US aggression, will cause Trump to rescind his "agreement" and bomb the hell out of a power plant as retaliation for Iran "breaking" the ceasefire (that never existed in the first place). Trump will think he's acting as a hero saying "I said we wouldn't attack unless they aggressed, and they did, so we were justified.".

.....and the above gives him license to do just that.

Not a good price level for pretty much anything right now. Stuck between a rally and an absolute crash.


This is one of those times I REALLY, REALLY want to be wrong in my thoughts and right in my positioning....but I am not feeling confident about that based on price action.....

The problem Trump has is they have already destroyed most military targets. His only recourse is to target civilians and civilian info structure. Which is defiantly a war crime. Perhaps his Generals are a bit hesitant to put their necks on the line.

Iran says ’77th wave’ of strikes underway on Israel, Gulf region
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it launched its 77th wave of strikes targeting Israel and US military bases in the Middle East.

Attacks “targeted the north, centre, and south” of Israel “using super-heavy and point-and-shoot systems, Khyber Shaken and destructive drones”, its spokesperson said in a statement carried by Iran’s Tasnim news sgency.

The IRGC said it also targeted the US bases of Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, Al Kharj in Saudi Arabia, and Al Dhafra in United Arab Emirates.

“[US President Donald] Trump’s contradictory behaviour will not lead us to neglect the war front and continue the battle,” it said.

I get the war communication confusion. I also think Iran, based on past experience, has more to gain by refuting claims (unless they were given a big carrot not to do so). That said, I also thought (hoped) that the market(s) would ALSO know this and be 'smarter' than jumping multiple % points at every...single... headline. I guess it has been a good 20+ years since the US engaged in such an aggressive action without direct provocation (Gulf War 1/2)...so maybe it was identical back then. I didn't notice/care about the volatility as much at the time because I wast trading futures.

Anyway, I hope this thing is on a path to de-escalation.
