Most of the flows have been stopped. I hope Israel and US to stop bombing Iran quick. A total closure of the strait would mean an end in this flows. Oil could then jumb and stay above 100.

.....and yet we see oil up $3 since the trump tweet....not very optimistic that we'll see this roll over if this type of news can't lower the prices.

So, let's read those tea leaves: IEA said it was meeting to discuss, price drops. IEA says it doesn't need to release reserves yet. Prices drop. IEA now says it will release...prices rise. Why? Fear. Like a FED rate cut happening in the face of every member saying cuts are not yet warranted.

Let's hope there are some further headlines to help actually LOWER the price throughout the day...or equities are going remain under pressure.

This is the only part that encourages me. Yea, it's an "emergency" release....but not like they are saying "we need to open up week(s) of reserves". Price action will tell us all we need to know though (kinda).

You're not wrong (referring to long equities). But the question of an equity crash is, objectively, uncertain. Sadly, it all hinges on Iran (at least as far as I can see) near term.

- If ships start flowing in the strait, equities are going to see a massive rally (even if just a matter of days).

- If the US pulls out saying it accomplished its goals, there may be a rally for a few hours and then, who knows...depends on the perceived governments left in place.

- If this thing drags on and oil starts to approach $100 again (and stay there), you're likely right. Equities do have the potential to see a significant correction. Even the charts would indicate that we're not in a "good" place and that the bears can run this thing down if they so choose. However, the fact that any "good news" regarding the war/lower oil price is causing a spike up still gives confidence that the bulls WANT to rally equities, they are just waiting for some sign of a prolonged, positive narrative (lasting more than a few minutes).

....If the VIX drops below 22 you're going to see some accelerated buying....but we have a long (it feels) way to go (or, as fast as one tweet, so it seems) before that happens.

Actually I expected EUR to rebound and Oil price go down - is this really so much fear dragging it? I mean wtf the situation of war did not change for a few days now and will not change - there is not much to do there really...
Is this just markets being irrational completely? Or am I missing something?
