The yen hovered near 157.6 per dollar as dollar strength and rising energy prices continued to weigh on the currency. Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said policymakers are closely analyzing how exchange rate movements influence inflation, highlighting the growing sensitivity of monetary policy to yen weakness.

However, global factors, including a stronger dollar and delayed expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts, have kept pressure on the yen.

what a clown! Only now you want to analyse how fx movements affect price trends? You should have done this back 3 years ago when you became the BOJ governor. Even a layman can tell you that fx movements affect prices greatly. BOJ has been so slow in raising rates, that your currency is now considered as junk and goods prices are so high.
