US: Jobs and CPI reports are not being politically manipulated, government's statistics chief says
'If anyone was cooking the books, I would be one of the first persons shouting,' says acting commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics President Donald Trump is not interfering in key economic data, the acting head of a major U.S. statistics agency says. The temporary chief of the U.S. agency that produces critical economic reports on jobs, unemployment and inflation says the data is not being manipulated or influenced by politicians.
