New York factory activity expands for second month while outlook improves
New York state factory activity expanded in February for a second month and manufacturers grew more upbeat about future business. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s general business conditions index was little changed at 7.1, figures issued Tuesday showed. Readings above zero indicate expansion, and the figure topped the median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists. The overall outlook gauge climbed to the second-highest level since 2022.
