    The Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell by 0.1% in January 2026 compared with the previous month to 99.9 points (December 2025 = 100). Inflation was +0.1% compared with the same month of the previous year. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The 0.1% decrease compared with the previous month is due to several factors including lower prices for electricity and supplementary accommodation. Prices also decreased for air transport, as did those for clothing and footwear, the latter due to seasonal sales. CPI data over five years is compared not only with year-on-year data, but also with changes in currency and with a single commodity.

If it wasn't for trump destabilizing the markets and keeping the risk on trades this currency would ve fallen a long time ago.

The Swiss and Japan are pretty good examples of low rates not causing inflation. Why the world stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that is a mystery. Academics can't admit they're wrong I guess.
