European Union governments are adopting a cautious stance and watching closely as United States President Donald Trump prepares to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos, a moment they see as critical to the direction of transatlantic trade tensions, Politico reported, citing 11 diplomats and two EU officials. The officials said leaders are looking to Trump's appearance on Wednesday for signals that could lower tensions and help defuse the dispute linked to US plans for Greenland, after he warned of new tariffs linked to European opposition.
