I find the situation incongruous in that he is putting out that he cares deeply for the rights of farmers in a remote country but at home his farmer base may be heard sharpening their pitchforks.

Must be a little bit careful with virtue signalling lest it come back to bite you. It is a practice usually reserved for the domain of the Left.
