South Africa Consumer Price Index: September 2025
Annual consumer price inflation was 3,4% in September 2025, up from 3,3% in August 2025. The CPI increased by 0,2% month-on-month in September 2025. The main contributors to the 3,4% annual inflation rate were housing and utilities (4,5% and contributing 1,1 percentage points) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (4,5% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point) – see Table C and Table E. In September 2025, the annual inflation rate for: • goods was 2,9%, down from 3,1% in August 2025; and • services was 3,9%, up from 3,6% in August 2025 – see Table A. table
