Before turning to the outlook for the economy and monetary policy, I would like to take a moment to call your attention to the wide range of activities taking place in this building. Our role in monetary policy gets a lot of attention, and I will get to that, but the Federal Reserve System, and the Kansas City Fed within that system, has a much broader set of responsibilities than monetary policy alone.
