Germany's unemployment rate at 6.3% in September
The unemployment rate in Germany stood at 6.3% in September, according to a report by the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit (BA) published on Tuesday. The number of unemployed people was estimated at 2,955,000, falling by 70,000 from August and rising by 148,000 compared to September 2024. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of unemployed people increased by 14,000 month-on-month. The underemployment rate, which records people who do not have a regular job but are not recorded as unemployed, stood at 7.5% in September, numbering 3,582,000.
