From @RedboxWire|Sep 19, 2025|4 commentsUS House Passes Temporary Funding Bill, Sends to Senate for Review
House passes GOP bill to avert a shutdown, but Senate looks likely to reject it The Republican-controlled House on Friday passed a stopgap bill to fund the government until just before Thanksgiving, daring Democrats in the Senate to reject the measure and risk a shutdown at the end of this month. The vote was 217-212, with one Democrat joining Republicans voting yes. Two Republicans, and all other Democrats, voted against the bill. The short-term funding bill, known as a continuing resolution or CR, now heads to the Senate, where Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and other Democrats have vowed to defeat it and have offered their own competing funding plan. From @realDonaldTrump|Sep 19, 2025|14 commentsI just completed a very productive call with President Xi of China. We made progress on many very important issues including Trade, Fentanyl, the need to bring the War between Russia and Ukraine to an end, and the approval of the TikTok Deal. I also agreed with President Xi that we would meet at the APEC Summit in South Korea, that I would go to China in the early part of next year, and that President Xi would, likewise, come to the United States at an appropriate time. The call was a very good one, we will be speaking again by phone, appreciate the TikTok approval, and both look forward to meeting at APEC!
