US business inventories up by 0.2% in July
Business inventories in the United States increased by 0.2% in July compared to the month before, and reached $2,666.7 billion, the US Census Bureau revealed in its report on Tuesday. The combined value of trade sales and manufacturers' shipments landed at $1,948.2 billion in the reported month, climbing by 1% month-over-month and by 4% year-over-year. The total ratio of business inventories to sales stood at 1.37 at the end of July, based on seasonally adjusted data, down from last year's ratio of 1.40.

The U.S. Census Bureau announced the following new manufacturing and trade statistics for July 2025. The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for July, adjusted for seasonal and trading day differences but not for price changes, was estimated at $1,948.2 billion, up 1.0 percent (±0.2 percent) from June 2025 and was up 4.0 percent (±0.3 percent) from July 2024.
