Scott Bessent needs to go back to econ 101 and learn basic economics. If the Fed is bullied into lowering rates, the result will be (and always has been) higher inflation. Stay in your lane, and control your temper, Scott. Better yet, resign. You don't add value to the dept you fell into.

He isn't wrong. The result of Fed's actions are clearly evident. However, it's probably not true that the Fed, as an institution, is actively working to hurt Americans. As an institution, the Fed is too slow, possibly too bloated, possibly riddled with mission creep, possibly too reactive and not proactive. So, what's the solution? Doubt Bessent is a solution architect.

That is actually correct. Fed has done a terrible job these last few decades and review of the Fed actions should be conducted as they did a great harm to the American people by debasing the USD. Reckless printing has cost average people almost everything, while the rich got even richer. Action should be taken against the Fed, as soon as possible, as they are clearly not serving to the people of the US, but their rich criminal buddies and corporations. Had the Fed continued hiking rates, stocks would be lower, gold would be lower. Purschasing power of the USD would rise which would help the average American. Rich people owning stocks and gold would lose money.

So yeah, totally agree with Bessent here. Fed should be held responsible for a disaster that they made by printing recklessly. And if someone suggests that the Fed only printed because the US government told them to, don't forget that even the president of the US (person elected by the people) doesn't have any power over the action taken by the Fed. It's Fed's fault. This level of incompetence on any other job would get you fired immediately, let alone a job where you control the nation's currency.
