On rational grounds, the Dollar does not deserve to be the reserve currency of the world. The Dollar is not backed up by anything and is one of the worst examples of what a fiat currency can become without a responsible President, Congress, Treasury and Federal Reserve. The Dollar's foundation weakens as America's debt soars, worsened by Trump's bill. This recklessness will push the Fed into quantitative easing to prevent interest rate spikes as investors demand risk premiums or sell off. The result: expanded money supply, asset inflation (especially housing), equity extraction through remortgaging, increased consumer spending, and an inflationary spiral. Tariffs will cement inflation into the economy, clearly threatening the Dollar's future. By the time this scenario becomes desperate, Trump will have retired, leaving the mess to others to fix.
