China's composite PMI grows slightly in August
China's Composite PMI Output Index stood at 50.5 in August, rising slightly from 50.2 recorded in the month prior, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) report published on Sunday. At the same time, the manufacturing PMI came in at 49.4, below the neutral 50 mark, indicating contraction in the sector and virtually unchanged from last month. In addition, the Non-Manufacturing Business Activity Index, measuring the activity in the country's service sector, was 50.3 in the reported month, climbing slightly from 50.1 in July.
