Speaking only for myself, and not "the TDS crowd" (whoever they may be), if Cook committed fraud -- and it certainly looks that way right now -- then she absolutely should face the consequences. Even if it means losing her job.

But it is certainly ironic that a President who himself has been convicted of massive fraud in his company's real estate dealings should now attempt to take the high ground and vilify Cook for her comparatively minor infractions. But he is acting within his authority to remove Cook for cause, if that can be proven.

What bothers me the most, though, is that Trump's "justice" is always selective, and usually political. Terrorists attacking the Capitol building and violently assaulting police officers? Pardoned. NYC Mayor Adams corruption? Not pursued, after an apparent deal with the Administration. And the list goes on...

If Trump were actually a law and order President, and if his efforts to fire Cook were not so obviously an attempt to gain leverage within the FOMC, it would be much easier to swallow Cook's firing. But Trump is himself a felon, and only cares about the law when it suits his own purposes. And that's what makes this seem wrong.

Agree with everything you said except for the first paragraph. First off, the allegations against her are just that - there's no trial, indictment or even investigation yet. All we have is another Trump meatrider and campaign donor Bill Pulte who has abused his role as FHFA director in many ways, one of which of course is using the data he has access to professionally to lob accusations at a target of Trump's ire: https://www.motherjones.com/politics...ms-of-his-own/ Can you say "malfeasance"?

So believing a discredited shill nepo baby that she's guilty of fraud is kinda ironic and making a lot of assumptions, but even if there was an impropriety, the mortgages were actually originated prior to her time at the Fed. The for "cause" rule only covers her tenure on the job - not her entire life.

Does'nt anyone think that the mortgage accusation is Trumps way of getting rid of people he calls liberal( mostly black women) ? How many has he charged with the same thing? This man is using DOJ to weaponize his power against his so called enemies. He is ruining all of our democracies, CDC, FED, DOJ all are suppose to be nuetral but have become tools for Trump.
