  • Fed’s Bostic still sees a single rate cut this year, amid uncertainty

    Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said on Thursday that he still thinks the U.S. central bank can cut its interest rate target once this year, while noting there’s a lot of uncertainty around that view as the economy undergoes considerable change. Bostic said the forecast he offered earlier in the year of one rate cut was “kind of still where I am,” speaking before theMetro Atlanta Chamber. But he added “but I would just say, in today’s world, every point estimate or forecast has a wide confidence band around it, and so I’m not stuck on anything.” Bostic said the current federal ... Seems obvious we will get between 1 and 3 rate ciuts this year, but too early to tell yet.

For any stock traders out there, today is the 5th straight down day in the spx, that is quite rare. Six days down almost never happens, and if it does it usually means a bottom. Statistically tomorrow is huge, up day looks most likely obviously, but if it’s down on volume that could be the first negative sign since April.

I am afraid, it's not that cut and dry as you seem to be leaning towards. Don't be disappointed, if they wait and analyze more incoming data.

Best case scenario....perhaps one cut, given the present circumstances.
